Early Childhood Enrichment (ECE)
South Dakota's Early Childhood Enrichment (ECE) promotes early childhood programs. This program promotes ongoing training and technical assistance to adults who are involved in day-to-day care of young children. Early detection, intervention and prevention services are provided to children in early childhood programs to promote "healthy" children.
ECE programs were established to meet the growing demands for early childhood training and to help recruit and retain quality child care providers across South Dakota. ECE offers services to support child care providers, teachers and others involved in early care and education.
Grants from the Department of Social Services Child Care Services program, local businesses, United Way and private donations help fund ECE programs.
