Text Box: Oral Health

As our daily lives seem busier and faster-paced than ever, one phrase comes to mind:

"The future is now.  A child's oral healthcare habits today will have an impact on his health as an adult"

The good news is that preventive dental care has dramatically improved the oral health of many American children.

Does your child need dental care?  If your child is without a dental home and you are unable to afford dental care at this time, you may want to consider having him or her seen on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.  Any child age 0-21 who is a resident of the county the Care Mobile is in, and who has not seen a dentist in the past 2 years may qualify.

In a collaborative effort between Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota, Delta Dental Plan of South Dakota and the South Dakota Department of Health, The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile has arrived in South Dakota!

The Care Mobile is a fully equipped dental office on wheels that is staffed by a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant and a nurse.  The staff provides comprehensive dental care, including preventive services.

The mission of the Care Mobile is to promote healthy bodies and happy smiles by providing statewide dental care to children without access to dental care, including those who are medicaid eligible and those without any dental insurance.  No child is turned away for inability to pay.  The Care Mobile is able to provide appointments for about 60 children per week.
